Hot Tub Sanitizers
Hot tubs are a lot like cars, they need proper care and maintenance and if given can last a long time and treat you well. So it's important to practice good hot tub care to ensure that you get the most out of your investment. One of the most important things you can do to protect your hot tub and the people that use it is by using a really good hot tub sanitizer to keep away bacteria and any other harmful thing that can get into your hot tub water. Now in case you didn't know there are actually a few different sanitizer you can use with your other hot tub chemicals.
Most people are under the impression that if you have a hot tub then you need to use bromine. Yes, its true that most indoor swimming pools and hot tubs use bromine because it doesn't oxidize and give off a strong odor like chlorine does. But bromine is more expensive that chlorine and you need to use more of it to properly sanitize. With that being said, it is a good sanitizer for your hot tub but there are others including chlorine.

Chlorine gives off a bleach smelling odor but there is a way to keep that down by using minerals. Nature 2, King and other manufacturers make a stick of minerals that you place in your hot tub once every 3-4 months and it sanitizes your hot tub. You also need to supplement this method by using a very small amount of chlorine to kill any really bad elements in your water.
You may of heard of Baquacil for a pool, well if not it's a sanitizer that doesn't use chlorine or bromine. They also make this chemical for your hot tub and it's called Baquaspa. You can get this in other brands but this seems to be the most popular.
