If you would like to get your closets more organized, but don't want to spend a lot of money, you still have some options. Perhaps you are renting an apartment or are a college student. These situations call for a more temporary closet solution, rather than a complete organization system.
The first thing to do is to clean out your closet until you are just left with the items that you really want to keep in this space. When you look at the "keepers" you will be able to decide just what type of organizers you will need. You may need a lot of shelves and a little hanging space, or large and small cubbies. There are less expensive organization systems at most discount stores made out of wire or plastic. These systems are modeled after the more expensive systems made of solid wood and are still very functional and pretty durable. The best benefit is that a discount closet organizer can be taken apart easily to be moved to a different apartment or home. A second benefit is that you can start with a basic system and add on to it later on.
Instead of a closet organization system, you could also buy individual pieces such as hanging shelves or shoe racks. These organizers are found in every price range and can be quite inexpensive at discount stores. Some online stores will also have some good deals – look for offers on free shipping as well.
You can find discount organizers at stores like Wal-mart and Target as well as home discount stores like Ikea. Because having an organized home is a goal of so many people, you will find stores that specialize in storage and containers popping up in larger metropolitan areas. Most of these specialty stores will have discount items and online ordering is often available.
