Instant Deck Design Software Review
Is it imaginable to be able to create a deck for your backyard that is a generation of your own ideas and not a cookie-cutter manufactured deck that you settled for? Instant Deck Design software tries to make this possible for you.
The CD-ROM is compatible with the Windows platform and uses DesignCAD to help even the novice computer user comfortable with design. The program starts you with a simple deck plan and allows you to continually modify it based on your design ideas. When you are done, you have a drawing that is to scale and you can even insert pre-drawn furniture, placing it where you would like to see it on the deck, to be sure it meets your specifications.
If you prefer variations of existing designs, the Instant Deck Design software program claims to allow you to take one of those decks and either take away features or add them to your liking. You have the option to create in 2D or 3D mode so that you get a very precise picture of what the deck will look like. The program also gives you the choice of a top or side view.
Some reviewers have expressed disappointment in the limitations of the canned features of the program. For example, the pre-drawn furniture is quite limited and the program will not give you advice for beam locations, and the wizards give you very limited options. At best, many users find the program useful as a drawing tool, but have reservations about the program being able to offer anything close to actual design.
Upgraded versions of the Instant Deck Design software program have had slightly better reviews, though some users say it is a bit more difficult to learn. Missing user manuals only make the difficulty greater. Therefore, if you are looking for a fanciful way to draw on the computer without much fanfare, this is the program for you. If you are looking for impressive home design software, you may be better off with something else.
