A finished home is a home sweet home
Once you purchase your own home, you will find that a finished home is a home sweet home for sure. The blank canvas that is the flooring, walls and yard become your place to express yourself. The options are endless and you just need to decide where you want to start.
Making a good first impression is very important. Because of that, the first rooms to be decorated are usually the living room and the kitchen area. Anyone that comes into your house will most definitely see those two rooms first and most.
The great thing about decorating your home is that you can finally have that room that you always wanted. If you have always wanted an Asian feeling kitchen, you can have it now! All it takes is some paint that is rich in color and some Asian motif decorations. Maybe even a gorgeous Asian paper fan to hang on the wall. Many people will appreciate the look of an Asian kitchen.
A very retro kitchen can also be nice. A seventies style kitchen can be easy to put together as well. You will just need some large white and black tiles for the floor and a bright red set of counters. Chrome appliances will really stand out and look great with the black and white floors and red counter tops.
Much time is spent in the living room when you have people over to visit. That is why it is especially important to make a statement with your living room. Many colors are great in the living room. Just be sure that the flow of colors continues from the kitchen or any other room that is attached to the living room.
An easy way to bring some color and personality to any room is to apply some fresh paint. Painting your walls two toned can really look great and can give you the opportunity to show off two of your favorite colors in one room. Just paint the upper half of the room in a lighter color and a color that is darker on the bottom. Split the two colors with a cool border or chair rail. It will look great!
Let us not forget about the bathroom. Almost every visitor will need to use your bathroom at one point or another. While walking through any home design store or local superstore, you will see plenty of different designs that will compliment your bathroom. If you shop around, you will probably find most of your decorating needs for fairly cheap.
Crown moldings are an easy way to tie all of the rooms in your house together. They are very popular in a lot of houses and can look really regal. You can use white crown moldings throughout the house, but to make them look a lot nicer, be sure to apply the same color crown moldings as the color that the baseboards and trim are in the rest of the house. If you have wood stained baseboards, you should go with wood tone crown moldings.
When considering that a finished home is a home sweet home, consider how nice it is to have the ability to decorate your home the way that you want. After the hard work is done, it is so nice to sit back and enjoy your handy work. Everyone who comes into your house will appreciate the beauty as well.
